License

Proprietary core, open plugin ecosystem — here's exactly what you can and can't do.

Core application

TerraLync license

TerraLync is proprietary software developed and owned by TerraVolt UK.

Permitted use

  • Personal use on your own solar energy system
  • Commercial use by installers on customer systems
  • Installation on multiple devices (ESP32, Pi, PC)
  • Use of the plugin system and official plugins
  • Backing up your own installation and data

Not permitted

  • Reverse engineering or decompiling the software
  • Creating derivative works of the core system
  • Redistributing or selling the software
  • Circumventing license verification
  • Infringing third-party intellectual property

By downloading, installing, or using TerraLync you agree to these terms. The software is provided "as is" without warranty — see the full terms bundled with each release.

Open source

Plugin system & SDK

The plugin system is open — that's what makes the ecosystem possible.

MIT License

The Plugin Manager, Plugin SDK and related infrastructure are released under the MIT License — free for commercial and personal use, modification, distribution and private use without source disclosure.

Individual plugins carry their own license chosen by the author (MIT, Apache 2.0, GPL, or proprietary). Check the manifest before installing — the license field is shown in the registry.
